More than 60 leading industry executives, independent consultants and other biscuit experts attended the 1st Biscuit People Conference held on 26-27 April 2018 in the hotel Eden, Rovinj, Croatia.
We at biscuit people have been working hard to provide the biscuit industry with an online platform that will not only be a source of information, news, and trends in the biscuit industry, but to also be a place where they connect and start new cooperations. As such, the biscuit people online platform has provided benefits to many industry members. However, we recognized there is also a need for an offline event for people in the biscuit industry to exchange and discuss current problems, ideas and solutions, as well as their knowledge and experience.
That is how the Biscuit People Conference (BPC) was born. We reached out to the biscuit industry members and with some good will and effort, turned an idea into what proved to be a unique and useful event. The 1st BPC gathered more than 60 leading industry executives, independent consultants and other biscuit experts in Rovinj, Croatia.
During two days of the conference, there were 12 speakers from 7 countries presenting important issues in the biscuit industry from different aspects. Having the top industry experts at one place gave attendees a unique opportunity to ask questions, debate current industry issues and participate in the roundtable discussion. One of the topics that gained the most interest was acrylamide mitigation in biscuits, crackers, and wafers. Five most active attendees were awarded books provided by the conference sponsor Elsevier.
